Tuesday Trigger: I'm So Pretty

I'm So Pretty!

I'm not that self-absorbed.... that's the title of the challenge this week... I promise, really....

I fell in love with this week's Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World (http://www.moxiefabworld.com/).  Isn't this pillow and chair just beauti-mus!  It has snowed at least 6 inches (and still going) here in Kansas today (we got early dismissal from work... woohoo!) and this chair just screams for you to curl up in it with a great book to read.  I love the worn look of the leather chair juxtaposed with the softness of the rose embellished pillow and then the contrast of the cool grey wall in the background.  It inspired me to create something in the same color family and to try something new.... making paper flowers from scratch.  I have been in love with Prima flowers for a long time, but keep seeing all of the great handmade flowers that other peeps in the blog world create and thought... I have GOT to learn how to do that... so this was my opportunity and I snagged it.  If you are in the same boat, check out youtube... there are tons of videos out there that give you great instruction on how to make these flowers yourself.  I used the method shown in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB_lOpnbJC4&feature=feedlik) with some slight modification to suit my own needs.  Mainly, I didn't use glue to put the pieces together, I used glue dots and it worked just fine...

Now, go out there and give it a try yourself (it's super easy and I'm glad I learned a new technique!!!).

NOTE:  The brown ribbon is much darker and more chocolately... my color balance is a little off in the photo; sorry...  :-)

Hugs,
Wheeze
